Thomas Kinkade. Man's a genius. I have like fifteen of his hand crafted originals that I bought at the mall. Hand crafted!

Is it called "Presenting Hole"?

There's a triangle of flesh touching the couch arm, and I can't make out what it is

R34 gave me a VERY disturbing image of Lens dipping her cooch in watercolor and pressing it to a canvas…..I hope she doesn’t read this and get any ideas! 😮

Thanks a lot, R34!

Is it RHED or Tanya Baxter?

by Anonymousreply 50July 21, 2021 1:59 PM

So either the OP is the artist or works for the gallery (no doubt at minimum wage.)

BLOCK AND BAN the evil OP who is, at best, trying to use Datalounge.com for free advertising - or at worst, the op's a moron who sets up a game without having a relevant answer.

I will never like you OP.

According to a Google image search, the painting is "The Dancer, 2020, by an "British-American" artist that goes by Rhed - shown by Tanya Baxter Contemporary gallery.

Here's bio info from the gallery site:

Rhed is a young emerging artist whose cultural background is diverse and unconventional. His childhood was spent between New York and London which have given him an eclectic and diverse artistic background. He has embraced a new genre of bricolage art with expressionist style and street energy. It is no surprise that he first dabbled as a graffiti artist.

His works are unique and brilliantly chaotic with a playful and performative aspect. Society conflicts such as the obsession with social media, fixation of celebrities & labels and generational problems such as drug abuse and depression are subjects that he approaches in a coded fashion; it is almost as if the artist uses the paintings to act as a spokesman for the millennial generation who have overdosed on a toxic society.

He has disguised the foreboding subjects with his use of colour, which is bold and dominating, the texture in his paintings is deliberately forceful and layered so that they evolve organically. There are certainly obvious influences from Picasso to Basquiat and what we are witnessing is a genuine desire to create an expressive language of emotion and storytelling which is laid bare on the canvas, whilst still using drawing as the key component in his paintings, the strong figurative Influence is refreshing from an emerging artist whose generation has largely forgotten the art of drawing.
