Not really R11, read the article... life for the men at the festival is not easy because of the general homophobia of the Mexican culture; they pack up their "look" and put in check their behavior when back home. The men dig the cowboy look. For many it's a reflection of their youth or family's past in the outdoors/agriculture. It's all good and for the men it's their outlet to just be g-a-y.

R12 Well, respectfully - I think that reinforces the point I was making. That's what a lot of those events have been - guys from smaller towns immersing themselves in a really open atmosphere, whatever the theme may be. Circuit parties may be a bit more about drugs, etc. but I've been to various events and weekends that were more about meeting and fucking around. I certainly went to those events when I lived in a small town, and had to "pack" my uniforms and gear away once I got back home.

Interesting to see it play out in this milieu, for sure.
