'All my exes live in Texas'. Well, not quite... As we head into Part VIII of what began as the Fadi Fawaz Saga, George Michael's exes return to social media to tug at our heart strings - and our wallets. What lengths will Fadi and Kenny not go to to acheive fame - and solvency?

The truth is out there ...
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 31, 2017 12:22 PM |
Exes tugging at our heart strings really?? Not at all. George Michael is the only one who has our sympathy and this thread as somebody requested in the old thread should have had only his name on it. Lets remember that song that symbolized so much promise as a singer, songwriter and music producer - "Careless Whisper". His struggles with his sexuality, his own self-destructive and over-indulgent ways led to a life where to an extent the great talent was never fully used.

...con'd from old thread...re: sex w women. I have always found it odd that no woman came forward and said she banged him. All I ever heard, and they were always direct quotes from George, was: Slept with Kathy J on Ecstasy, had a 3some w a man and a woman and Pat F was pissed, a handful of women have claimed that he fathered their child, and when he lost his virginity to a woman it was horrific and she was "a right old cow". Anyone else have sex w women stories NOT told by George?
Although "Nothing Looks The Same In The Light" really sounds like he's singing to a girl, but who knows.
Oh! And I'm Your Man was about how Brooke S should lose her virginity to him??

'Something in your eyes

George was taking the bus to his job as an usher at a cinema when the inspiration struck that's where the reference to "The silver screen" comes from

R7 during Wham days is always reported that Andrew was this wild club guy. Who cares? And the tabs ran with that story. So why wouldn't run with some groupie blabbing her mouth?

R9 thank you for that awesome tidbit you got from Genius, genius. Which I think is wrong, wasn't he going to his DJ supper club job? Either way, amazing he wrote the song on the bus at 17...
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 31, 2017 1:43 PM |
Not sure how much of the origins of CW are actually accurate. We all know about the 'bus story', but noone knows for sure what Andrew's real involvement was in the song. I'd also like to know what the very first mix with all the arrangements sounded like. I've heard the second production 'draft' it went through, and the finsl is the official third. I'd believe more of the PR spin if I knew what it was like fresh off yhe bat so to speak.
And as for the thread title - people have been in and out of all seven parts to date and it would be silly to completely rename such a long running thread. This was never a strictly GM thread anyway - it began life as a thread about Fadi.

[bold]I was on my way to DJ at the Bel Air[/bold] when I wrote "Careless Whisper". I have always written on buses, trains and in cars. It always happens on journeys. With "Careless Whisper" I remember EXACTLY where it first came to me, where I came up with the sax line. I can remember very vaguely where I was when I wrote things after Wham! got off the ground--but with "Careless Whisper" I remember exactly the time and place. I know it sounds really weird and a kind of romantic thing to say--but I remember exactly where it happened, where I was sitting on the bus, how I continued and everything. I remember I was handing the money over to the guy on the bus and I got this line, the sax line: der-der-der-der, der-der-der-der. Then he moved away and I continued writing it in my head. I wrote it totally in my head. I worked on it for about three months in my head...

The story I heard was that George just put his name on the credits so that Andrew would be set for life, but how at that point do you really know what will be a monster hit?
Andrew DID write his parents a note where he made a mistake that read Wake me up up before you go go, and apparently that was Andrew' s contribution to that.

[R3] On what basis can GMs Estate shutdown the Forum? They were very strict with copyright and what is linked and uploaded on the Forum. What of GMs Estate was secretly funding it and they have now pulled the plug on it? Dont know. It had so many resources and info related to GM. They could have atleast given notice so people could have connected elsewhere and downloaded some of the old articles and images of value. Hope they are back though
[R6] GM did not have a threesome at Ibiza. He went to Cyprus alone where he had these experiences and it alerted him to the fact that he maybe gay. He came back and went to the shooting of Club Tropicana where he told Shirlie and Andrew and they discouraged him from telling his parents cos of GMs Dad

Whoa whoa...
This is not a fan forum. Posters here are not fangirls. After seven threads, we know not to take ANYTHING George or his crew at face value - including the stories about Careless Whisper.
If someone wuestions something, an appropriate answer is not to merely wuote GM PR as if it were gospel - we know it very often isn't.
Everyone knows about the 'other' Careless Whisper production on youtube. There would have been a rough demo cut before this done in-house probably compiled by George. This would be the first version. The youtube cut is therefore the second. Hence the query.
Let's actually read posts in their entirity. And not encourage fangirling.

Well, unfortunately, when a celebrity's name is mentioned in a thread title, it's going attract fans, and subsequently, anecdotes of no particular point or relevancy to current events. And the term "fan" includes all of those on the spectrum, from the insane to the ones that have a better grip on reality. What can I tell you?
And I was the one who asked if anyone heard a story about GM & females NOT from the mouth of GM, I was trying to steer the convo. In that direction....

[[R37] Oh here come the GM forum members over here with this Kenny crap. STOP trying to make this happen . Get out of your make-believe world of painting this dysfunctional relationship as good. Since you believe that Kenny was so good for George maybe you can answer these questions. Why did Kenny sell George out to the Sun magazine? The very magazine that GM hated. Why GM did not leave Kenny anything in his will? If he was trying to get back with Kenny? If George was so happy with Kenny, why did he cruise, smoke looks of pot and engage in heavy drinking if he was so happy? I am sick of the Kenny fans make-believe tales. I wish that forum would open so they can leave this one.

The forum members were not pro-Kenny or Fadi and were very critical of them which got them into trouble with the mods. The members were very well-informed about GMs life and music. They were not crazed Lovelies there, those people are all in the FB groups. If people from GM Forum want to connect up shall we start a FB group for that?
| by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 1, 2017 3:02 AM |
[R37] George might have got out of control after the split with Kenny but that does not in anyway imply his relationship with Kenny was a good one. Their relationship was highly dysfunctional. One of the people in the relationship Kenny himself stated in The Sun interview if they had both been together they would probably both be dead. Does that tell you they were a having a great relationship? NO. It was more or less a living arrangement for years before that with things turning worse after 2004 when Kenny started having his drinking problems and became a "mean drunk". Look at the way even in the recent ET Online interview when Kenny is asked if he thought they could have got back together he answers with an emphatic NO. Let us not keep on building these stories about Kenny saving George. They were probably both equally to blame for a toxic relationship.
| by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 1, 2017 3:11 AM |

| by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 1, 2017 3:54 AM |
[R46]Who says he did not care about Kenny are or is anybody saying he hated Kenny. They had a bad relationship that was not good for either of them and they split. George wrote Safe, Amazing, American Angel for Kenny before the breakup song as he himself called it "Where I Hope You Are". He sang Safe a few times on the Symphonica tour but it was the new breakup song he sang at every concert. He was also singing songs for Anselmo and in the Patience album he wrote a song "Please Send Me Someone (Anselmo's Song)". So what does that say about his relationship with Kenny?
| by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 1, 2017 3:57 AM |

He had an open relationship with Kenny. They both went on Hampstead Heath at night and GM would blow random guys while Kenny kept a look out for the police or journalists. Sometimes, they'd invite boys back to their big Hampstead house to play.

[bold]'Powerful' George Michael biography to HarperCollins[/bold]
HarperCollins has acquired a biography of George Michael by author Sean Smith to publish in November.
HarperNonFiction editor Zoe Berville acquired world all-language rights to the book, George, from Gordon Wise at Curtis Brown.
George, scheduled to publish on 16th November 2017, is pitched as the story of two extraordinary lives - the private man and the public legend. Smith went back to North London where he was raised to trace his journey as "a sensitive but determined boy who grew up to be one of the biggest British pop stars of all time".
The "powerful and poignant" tribute of a book will cover his introduction to the music scene singing "Young Guns (Go For It)" on Top of the Pops, his days as part of Wham! and solo career, selling more than 100 million records, as well as life "behind the glamour", now it is known he secretly gave away millions of pounds to worthy causes.
Smith said: “I was awe-struck when I saw George Michael perform ‘Somebody to Love’ at Wembley Stadium. He had the most beautiful voice. Truly, he was a giant of popular music. A friend of George’s said to me, ‘He was a good man. Please write a nice book about him.’ I sincerely hope I have.”
Berville says: “Sean is unparalleled in the meticulousness of his research and the sensitivity with which he crafts his biographies, and George is no exception. This fascinating book is a powerful and poignant tribute to one of our most-loved musicians.”
