I don't know about talking to dead people, but reading future, past etc is something all humans are capable of.
I have no religion but had been part of several esoteric groups in the past where they claim to train you to read people, predict events and remote view others.
I can reasonably read most people, their original intent, sometimes random infos, sometimes full images, names, smells places. Sometimes I even see full intimate scenes like sex, or uninteresting things such as someone taking a shit in their bathroom.
I wasn't born with it and developed this by following the groups I was part of like the Rosacrucian movement (their very first training that is actually free for all is teaching you basic tricks to control your mind and guess random numbers, focus on people at the streets and call them using your mind, etc up to more sophisticated stuff like predicting entire events inside a mental place they call Sanctum). Unfortunately I hate religion and rituals, so it became very boring to have to prepare myself with lots of stupid garbs or utensils that had nothing to do with training ones mind.
So I went to the Silva Method, possibly the coolest and only non religious course of mind control I've ever found. There were lots of religious (all denominations) and even atheists like myself there. You learn lots of methods of mind control from memorizing things automatically to read an entire book without opening it (at higher levels). Unlike the Rosecrucians, it creates a Lab (as opposed to a Sanctum) and it focuses on breathing after you program your mind to get into instant alpha state.
When I was fully trained (back in my 20s) I used this remote viewing and predicting system to help me out a lot. I could never guess a lottery money (i did try, why wouldn't I?) but I could use it to get the exact job I wanted with the above average salary I thought I deserved. I scanned all the companies, bosses, interviewers, etc before choosing the person I felt more connected to me and it did work.
I also can predict to this day if someone is about to die soon or close to it. My ratio is about 60%, including a distant cousin whom I had zero contact with that I clearly saw jumping off a window (which he did).
