She called somebody corny with that tacky weave on her head? The color is tragic.

by Anonymousreply 1February 25, 2023 11:12 PM

I thought voices like hers died in the early aughts along with chicken heads. Chuckle. This was a cute little fun interview.

I doubt he values her opinion of him at this time. He is so kind to talk politely to her.

by Anonymousreply 3February 25, 2023 11:17 PM

That was funny, but if the worst thing you are called is corny, that is not bullying. What a silly woman, trying to deflect.

by Anonymousreply 4February 25, 2023 11:24 PM

Too many Black women think a black dude is corny if he is intelligent, not a thug, speaks proper English, and isn’t a macho caricature

by Anonymousreply 6February 25, 2023 11:26 PM

R6 too many white people like to put down those types of black men too.

by Anonymousreply 8February 25, 2023 11:38 PM

Calling someone corny is not bullying by any stretch of the imagination. I can give you a laundry list of much worse things I was called from my kindergarten through high school years.

by Anonymousreply 9February 25, 2023 11:43 PM

But in the black community, “corny” is viewed as a very derogatory comment, akin to being called a nerd, uncool, white, and often, unsexy. It’s especially bad for a black man to be called corny.

by Anonymousreply 10February 25, 2023 11:47 PM

R10 your comments just show you aren’t black. Stop.

by Anonymousreply 11February 25, 2023 11:48 PM

not understanding why some here don't think being called "corny" is a big deal. If he was called "corny" repeatedly by someone, especially multiple people during high school than that is most certainly bullying. She and anyone else doing it were trying to belittle him. I doubt he was just called "corny" 1 time by her and her alone

by Anonymousreply 12February 25, 2023 11:51 PM

Just because being called corny is no big deal to you doesn’t mean that it isn’t a big deal to someone else. What hurts you might not hurt me, and vice versa. Do not tell people what to find hurtful.

by Anonymousreply 13February 25, 2023 11:53 PM

R13 Now you're just being "silly".

by Anonymousreply 14February 25, 2023 11:58 PM

She seemed nervous about interviewing him and tried to do damage control before he started speaking. She said much worse shit that that - it's obvious.

She wasn't even apologetic - just said, no - I was misquoted. ? What?

I hate women like her - she looks like she's still a bully and big mouth to this day. I would have reacted much worse.

I see he’s got a Denzel chip on that muscled shoulder.

by Anonymousreply 16February 26, 2023 12:04 AM

R15 hahaha yeah she was misquoted in high school !!

dumb bitch

by Anonymousreply 17February 26, 2023 12:09 AM

LOL The way he looked at her before he checked her 😂

I knew I heard that awful voice somewhere, she was common Love & Hip Hop trash! MBJ must've relished this moment now that she is now a no-name red carpet host

“Corny” is a pretty huge diss to a black man

by Anonymousreply 19February 26, 2023 12:51 AM

R18 holy shit her looks fell all the way off. Massive weight gain and horrible new hair style

by Anonymousreply 20February 26, 2023 12:51 AM

Corny is about as bad as calling a black guy “white.” It means you aren’t cool or down with black culture

by Anonymousreply 21February 26, 2023 12:52 AM

She just had to slip in the ‘corny’ jab as he left, though.

by Anonymousreply 23February 26, 2023 1:10 AM

r12, I can tell they had a little more beef than her just calling him corny...

She is already too old for those ugly ass trendy hairdos and will fade into further into complete obscurity, while MBJ will continue his illustrious career.

by Anonymousreply 24February 26, 2023 1:16 AM

Why did she bring it back up at the end?

by Anonymousreply 25February 26, 2023 1:22 AM

Wendy Williams is the first person I heard using "corny" as a put-down.

Back in the day, "corny" meant stale and unfunny. As in, "corny jokes."

Anyway, maybe he should have just not stopped and should have just passed her by.

Who was the blonde woman who kept trying to say something. Was that his date?

No, then we would not have this brilliant moment of him looking a her like piece of trash about to be discarded!

I’m guessing his/the event’s PR handler keeping him moving through the gauntlet.
