I understand I don’t get the whole marriage/ wedding compulsion, but it is so badly advised here. Neither of them are young, have career prospects or money, seem religious, or any reason why marriage makes sense versus living together. Must really want to stick it to the ex. I know she is crazy and maybe was crazy before him, but I strongly suspect he was gaslighting her. And I don’t use that term lightly. But he was off filming wherever he was while she was in LA raising their children and not working, feeling increasingly fat and out of it. I believe he lead her on until he was over it, and it came as a huge shock to her.

Well, at least we're talking about him, which I am sure is part of his objective by announcing this. He is very much a working actor who has been steadily gliding down into the C-list category, but still has enough visibility to be considered prime tabloid fodder. Crazily enough, insane Alice is who has rescued him from utter and complete oblivion and this will keep his name in the media.
Now, he'd better have Long Nose sign an iron clad prenup, because if they eventually do marry and she manages to have a child, she'll take him to the cleaners when in ten years, he decides that he wants to trade her for a younger, thinner, toothier model.
The only positive thing about this is that Alice will turn into an exploding volcano of neediness, wounded narcissism and uncontrollable rage, and her crazy antics are going to keep us entertained for months to come. He was the male lead in Marvel's FANTASTIC FOUR and its sequel RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER in the mid/late 2000s.
Those two films did fine but nothing spectacular.
I think he was overshadowed by Chris Evans, who went on to bigger and better things, instead.
