Aretha hadn't lived in this house since around 2010. For whatever reason she basically abandoned it but didn't sell it and moved to the Riverside Condos in Downtown Detroit where she passed away. According to the YouTube description, this video was made sometime in 2022 and the mansion was sold earlier this year and totally gutted.

Aretha was one of the greats, singer, musician, artist. But yeah her life was messy from the get go- certainly abused by her father, husbands too most likely, enormous weight fluctuations, fears, addictions, and least important (lol) awful taste. The stuff she wore throughout her ups and downs were almost ludicrous. She certainly mismanaged her great earnings but did die with a double digit million net worth. She was ultimately a survivor. But all this pales in the recorded legacy of her voice and music.
