I must admit that I am fascinated by Andy Cohen: he doesn't have any talent whatsoever, is an intellectual lightweight, has the personality of a splotch of sputum and the looks of a smarmy, unattractive Sunday school teacher but, in spite of his many limitations, he has manged to climb up to the top of the television hierarchy and make a fortune in the process.
Could it be that he delivers low quality, relatively cheap entertainment at lightning speed and is willing to incorporate the lowest, filthiest, shittiest clowns into his horrible reality shows? I just have to wonder how someone so unlikeable and unappealing in most aspects, has manage to build a TV empire while having so very little to offer - there must surely be something there, but I just don't see it and I'd be grateful if anyone could explain it to me.

Some of you shouldn't believe Cohen's PR about "his TV empire." It's been dissected on DL for years.
Cohen made himself Exec Producer of the Real Housewives shows after they'd already begun and showed signs of being successful. He was an exec at Bravo at the time who'd merely hosted the first Housewife reunion specials. Then he gave himself his talk show spot, which has had a good long run; however, lately the ratings are in the toilet (100K + viewers? yikes). Almost none of his new projects have come to anything. His contract for WWHL is renewed through next year, but after that, some might think it's time for Andy to move on.

I'll never forgive him for crashing the conversation Howard Stern was having with his sex-starved gay intern, Chris Wilding.
The talk was happening live, and Andy heard it and was nearby in Midtown, so he showed up and practically threw himself through the studio door to meet Chris and take over the interview. Howard had Andy and Chris sit together on the interview couch, and they talked about Chris' dating history and sexual preferences (top with a fat cock, but willing to bottom for a star like Andy Cohen). Andy wedged himself in as a potential date for Chris, and they agreed (on air) to meet and try it out.
A few weeks later, Chris told the story of their "date." Andy was late, and focused on other celebrity stuff instead of Chris. It was only a drink at a bar, but some other people came in and Andy went off to be with them, leaving Chris by himself at the bar with no date. Chris was decent about it, but it really makes Andy Cohen sound like a star-fucker with no real soul.

I have actually known Andy for 20 years, not like a good friend but in the same circles kind of way. He has had relationships early in his career but nothing lasting. Maybe a year or two? This was before he became on tv famous. Once he got some fame, he would go for the younger guys out of his league. Once he got more famous, well, he became insufferable. When he and Anderson took their little show on the road, Andy would hand-pick some young guy from the crowd to fuck. He is fast aging out of the system and has few prospects for a husband now. He is insanely jealous of Nate Berkus getting Jerimiah Brent. The problem with Andy is even if he got Jerimiah, he would cheat on him.
